Priest Application - Nextdawn Empty Priest Application - Nextdawn

Post  Nextdawn 21/8/2012, 06:20

Evening Core Crew,

I’ll start this application with the simple stuff...

My Character

Name: Nextdawn
Class: Priest
Role: Shadow, Discipline & Holy
Link: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/kazzak/Nextdawn/advanced

I’m comfortable with all roles of the Priest, I play them all regularly depending on the boss and team selection. As a result, I have high ilvl Healy & Shadow gear sets.

I also have PvP sets, so please excuse me if when inspected the PvP set is present, I’ll endeavour to log off in the appropriate gear each day until my application is processed.

I have played Priest since Karazhan days, where I switched from my old main (Rogue). Everyone wanted a healer back then.

Myself
My name is Steve, 30 years young and live in Wolverhampton, England.
I would like to believe I am mature, focused and most importantly reliable.

Experience
As I touched on above, I changed to my Priest mid-way through Karazhan content and have therefore played this character for many years.
In The Burning Crusade I played for the server rank 2 guild (Dogwatch-Kilrogg) and was part of the steady 25man team raiding 5days p/week. Server 2nd kills within ZA, Mount Hyjal, Black Temple.

When Sunwell Plateau hit I followed one of my friends to Bloodscalp server to a guild called Fractured and continued to progress server 2nd throughout SWP and then Naxx, OS, EOE.

At this point of raiding 5days a week for some considerable period of time had an impact on my personal life to the extend my partner left me, I then took around 1 year break from the game.

I completely missed Ulduar and the ICC release, and returned very casual to a friend’s guild progressing midway through ICC.

With the launch of Cataclysm I decided to return to serious raiding but at a scaled down 3days p/week, and finally cracked the balancing act of play time vs work and family time.

I raided and led a team through Firelands & DS and then struggled with recruitment on the Killrogg server so made the switch to Kazzak.
I joined a guild called Boose as they were looking for a Priest and raided only 3 days, after some months here the Guild Master (Katurn) left and went to DreamCatchers, the guild then went casual.
I returned to wowprogress and again looked for a suitable guild raiding 3days p/week requiring a Priest and found Parallax.

Parallax has been my home for the last few months where I have played well and regularly had positive feedback, high DPS output with solid healing when required. Up until yesterday!

Yesterday the guild master (Ruaran) decided to call it a day on Parallax and the guild has gone social/casual – Story of my life!

So here we go again, but this time I find Core Crew and start writing this application.
If approved for trial I will give dedication & reliability in return I would like to hope the guild has solid foundations and is not planning on winding down any time soon, as I would prefer some longevity.

Logs

Parallax have not kept logs for a while, but please feel free to contact the GM (Ruaran) who I would like to think will give me a good reference. In addition, if you’re familiar with Openraid you can see my feedback at the below links which is all positive and highlights my reliability...

&
http://www.openraid.eu/index.php/users/repview/57121

Trial
As my guild has stopped raiding, I’m more than happy to join you for a raid after the next lockout so you can do a live trial without a guild invite if you wish.

Spec
There’s not much movement is Priest talent builds so would expect mine is pretty standard. However, should you wish to query anything please feel free.
From a stats point of view I’m fully aware of haste caps and rotations. I’ll go into detail should you wish however I wouldn’t otherwise put this in my application as anyone could copy paste something from Elitist or SP.com

Additional
I have Vent, TS, Mumble and can communicate English no problem.

I look forward to a response.
Kind Regards, Steve

Seems like a guy I definately wanna have a chat with on ventrilo about things.
It seems your attitude is correct, and if you back back this up with numbers and preformance I think he can fit in nicely.

Just to inform you tho. We are looking for a full time dps. So shadow will be the only option in raids unless something happends to one of our healers.

Few of us have been around talking and we think it could be an idea for you to join a raid on wed with us. We would be logging you and looking at your performance that day as you dont currently have any logs to show as that would make it much easier for us to see the info we need and then we would go from there.

It would be either wed or thursday but if you could be ready for wed raid start will be at 20.00 CET. Just throw anyone of us a whisper and we will let you know what the raid day looks like.

Can you explain a bit more indepth about your raid experience? You have been really brief in the application about it.

I want to know about heroic kills and when. What in your opinion were the most difficult encounters you beat? I can't really tell from your armoury any notable dates on your pve kills perhaps you could explain to me.

Hi Witweed,

All of TBC I cleared as current content (KZ, ZA, Gruuls, Maggys, TK, SSC, MH, BT, SWP), if memory serves me correct Acheivment system came out just before SWP or during and therefore my KJ acheivment should show he was killed pre-nerf. Was some time ago so may have to check google but i'm confident this was the case. Hardest raids were certainly in BT wiping 5nights a week on the same boss for weeks was the norm the opposite of Naxx Rev2 (Gurtogg, Council, Sharaz/Gear farm, Illidian spirng to mind), I can definatley remmeber a few players rage quitting on Archimonde after wiping the raid by failing at tears, those were the best days :-).

The oringial ZA we got down pretty quick, with plenty of time for most of the guild to get the timed 10man raid bear which i have, but tbh was not to difficult.

as per my applciation, i left early LK expansion so missed Ulduar and came back casual for ICC.

Cleared ICC, BoT,BWD normally then started serious again for Firelands, managed to get 6/7HC in FL which I was raid leader, difficult enough on dead Killrogg (which is now a new player server) extremely sparse population.

Current content i have cleared 8/8HC and decent geared so i'm not looking for a boost. Hopefully I will show some value Wednesday and try and get a spot in your team for Mists.

Thanks

Everything you've said so far has been very positive, but my only problem is that the only proof we have of performance is Openraid, and my experience with open raid is that it's full of sub-par players doing cross-realm pugging. A RL friend of mine is constantly doing PuG's on Openraid, leading them like you do, and he's always getting positive feedback saying he's an excellent leader/healer etc... when in actual fact he's the worst player i know (Zeeyad for those of you that know him) so i'd take recommendations from Openraid very lightly. But the rest of your application is strong enough to make me think their might be some truth in those comments. But as always i imagine Livvy will do her own proper testing of your performance with a logged raid.

Morning Arch,

I do see your point but would not entirley agree, whilst there are plenty of happy clappers that are easily pleased there are lots of solid players also. The difficult part is you go into these runs with little idea about your teams abilitys which can present a challenge but its all content dependant. One area i do feel it highlights is reliability, if you fail to turn up you get instant -25 reputation which you will not find on my profile.

I do accept as an individual you could have a below par performance and it go unoticed if you are carried, the liklihood is if the objective is acheived the raid are satisfied. Hopefully, i can go some way to showing my performance in a live raid as suggested above.

I must admit i'm a little nervous now but i'll give it my best shot, which is all i can do and so be the outcome.

If you could let me know which day you would like me Today/tomorrow as it was unconfirmed above that would be great, i'll check back here later.

Many Thanks

Dont be nervous. We will ofc keep it is your first run in mind.

Numbers will ofc be noticed. But we are more interesting in if you dps the right targets at the right time, your ability to dps while doing other stuff, your attitude and personality etc.

Just play like any other day :p

Just reference the d/c flying alyrazor its since 4.3 and seems a Shdow Priest bug.

See links below..

http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/4662357731

and

http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/1119876-Soloing-Alysrazor-DC-issues-anyone-else

Worked fine whislt i did this content live but as per the post on mmo...

"Ever since 4.3 all the shadow priests in my guild, including myself, DC on this fight. I don't know why. "

Sorry about this.
