[Mistweaver Monk] Amalisa

-Personal Info –

Hello! My name is Allie, I am 26 years old and I live in Israel, just outside Jerusalem, though I am American by birth, I have been here since 2005. I am a Logistics Administrator for an electronics distribution company, and I work from 8-4 Realm time from Monday to Thursday, and until 12:30 (noon) server time on Fridays. In my free time I play WoW and I like to make sig’s and backgrounds for people on MMO-Champion, play guitar, listen to music, watch tv, and play various PC games, (Obviously including wow.)

I have a working mic and I don’t mind talking when it’s important, but I do know to keep my mouth shut.
The problem I have with non template applications is I tend to go on for a bit! So I’m sorry if it’s a bit long

I am applying to you today on my Monk, Amalisa. I have recently rerolled her from my Druid, which can account for the big gear difference. My druid was my main since late Vanilla, and has 496 played days on it. Due to insufficient funds to transfer after my guild disbanded, I, and my friend Joemama (Who is applying on his hunter together with me) decided to reroll to Kazzak, a much more... shall we say.. active, realm then Kara. I found you guys the most basic way, Wowprogress. A friend of mine did a pug with some of your players and he said he had a good time with you, and that peaked my interest.

-Alts-
(they are all on dead realms, so I can't really pug there. I have them there so I can play with my friends, with the exception of my mage who was for my guild's alt runs)

-Raid History-
I have a long raid history, as I have been playing wow since late Vanilla. I started WoW a few weeks before the end of Vanilla, and was around level 40 when it ended, so none of that matters! I started raiding in Kara as a feral tank, but quickly rolled to resto as I enjoyed that much more. In WOTLK I discovered a true passion for Balance and that became my main spec.

Below are a list of the content I have cleared and the patch, in which I cleared it in, and the spec and what achievements I may have received during that time.
T4: Tank – cleared in proper patch (Champion of the Naruu)
T5: Resto – cleared in proper patch (Amani bear)
T6: Resto Cleared in proper patch (Hand of A’dal) (only two in SWP) World 200 Illidan.
T7: Balance Cleared in proper patch (Immortal was done in t8) didn’t get my drakes though, as we thought we had more time, and it turns out we didn’t!
T8: Balance Proper Patch, with Drakes.
T9: Balance Proper Patch except for TOTGC 25, best try on last boss 2% before I had to take a break from wow.
T10: Balance Cleared in proper patch. 10 man mount. 25 man mount finished in Cata (needed Sindragosa achi). Hc LK 25 was done in Cata, but I did LK 10 in WOTLK.
T11: Balance. Everything except Council hc in the proper time frame, I got …How Awesome… in T12.
T12: Balance: Cleared in proper patch, Mount and Firelord.
T13: Balance/Resto, I cleared it with the 15% buff due to a Minor break from WoW.
T14: Balance, 10/16 HC. My guild took a break for Xmas and New Years and we never pulled ourselves out of it, causing it to disband. Rank 191 hc Gara, 183 grand emp normal.
Below is a list of the guilds I have been in and their respective servers:
T4: CarpeDiem of Burning Steppes
T5: Carpediem of Burning Steppes, NeverEnders of Bladefist. Left CD because it was falling apart, people stopped raiding.
T6: NeverEnders of Burning Steppes. (GM left for method sylvanas, guild fell apart) CarpeDiem of Trollbane (Raid leader along with Joe, since they were struggling and I had already cleared t6)
T7: Durability 0 of Trollbane. I left Carpediem due to a personal issue with a fellow officer (not game related).
T8: NeverEnders of Bladefist, The Cathedral of Bladefist. Sanity of Bladefist. Dura disbanded two days before Ulduar was released. I went back to bladefist to reform NeverEnders. It fell apart when the GM broke his spine, and we couldn’t keep the guild afloat without him and his wife and brother. The Cathedral moved to Burning Blade and I couldn’t afford to follow at the time, so I joined Sanity.
T9: Sanity of Bladefist
T10: Deadfist of Bladefist, Forged of Bladefist. Symbol of Bladefist. I was forced to leave Sanity at the end of t9 due to my ex husband losing his job and going emo and no longer allowing me to play wow. It is due to this that I missed realm first grand crusader among other achievements. After he got a new job I moved to Deadfist, as Sanity had already replaced me. Deadfist started to struggle with LK normal, and merged to create Forged, which fell apart when the GM took everything and left for another guild.
T11: Mojo Madness of Vashj Exiled of Bladefist. I left Symbol with an IRL mate because the GM had lost control of the guild, and lost the will to try, (understandable) it was going to hell. Guild shortly after disbanded. Mojo Madness disbanded due to lack of players.
T12 : Exiled of Bladefist, Dissension of Hellfire. I left Exiled due to general bad attitude, raging, screaming, and emoness of several members. I didn’t enjoy raiding with people who cussed their heads off and called everyone names for making mistakes and then made mistakes themselves, I prefer to enjoy raids! 
T13: Pure of Turylon, Contiuum of Bladefist. Dissi fell apart shortly before t13 came out. I joined Pure as resto, but they didn’t really have room for me, with 40+ people logging every night the guild was overstuffed, so I went casual and joined a guild of old friends back on Bladefist.
T13/T14: ExQuisite of Kara: I was asked by my then boyfriend to join the guild he was in. This is the guild I was in on my druid, as I stated before, it disbanded due to lack of effort from people after the Xmas break.

I chose to reroll to a monk because it looked like an interesting class to play and I was not disappointed. I find the class to be challenging and interesting, and something I could stick with for a very long time, I like that I can smack stuff and still heal, which is great for fights where the boss has a dps buff on him. It’s something I liked about being a disc priest too.
I currently have mastery on my bracers instead of Int, because they are blue, but I can always get the int if you prefer. I have Spirit on my chest due to my low ilvl.

I took Tailoring and Enchanting for my professions. I like the spirit bonus I get from tailoring, and enchanting is always a useful profession to have around. For flasks and food I use Spirit at the moment. As I get more gear, I’ll swap to Int food. I have Pots of Focus for fights where there is enough downtime for me to use them, and Mana pots for the fights with lots of action.

-Bindings-
I have many key binds, as you can see from the screenshot. I won’t list what each one is here. Anything with an “S” in front of it on my screenshot is a shift.
My “t” key binding, for trinket, I change if I have an on-use trinket. Since at the moment I don’t have one, it’s just my pvp trinket. My “g” keybind is transcendence which is a shift-modify macro so I can use the transfer without taking up extra space on my bars.
The little green splat next to my mass rez is my macro for view distance.
My Soothing Mist is bound to “`” (the little dingy next to the 1). and disable is my right side mouse button (not really for pve eh I have it there and nothing else, as that button is right next to my pinky, and sometimes I slip to it, so if I am targeting a player, nothing happens!

I think that covers them all.


-Spec-
The spec I have right now, I am playing with it. I enjoy Chi Wave a lot more then Chi Burst, and I think for most fights, it would be the better option. I have seen a lot of variety in top teir monks, and it seems split between the two. At my current gear level I find Ascension to be more useful to me then Chi Brew, but I can see Chi Brew having good functionality. I like Clarity as it gives me more chances to use my Chi Torpedo.

-Glyph-
Glyph choice seems unanimous, and it’s understandable, as these glyphs are very useful, I prefer to not have to channel my Mana Tea, and just use it on cooldown (once I have two) Its bound to my left side mouse button.

-Gems-
Gemming is pretty straight forward. Since the stat prio is Spirit > Haste to 1,345 > Int > Crit > Mastery > Haste past 1,345. Getting to the first haste point was extremely easy. Since a lot of the spells are instant, more haste then that isn’t really as important as crit. Blue sockets are a pure Spirit gem, Red sockets I would put a purified (spirit + int), and yellows I’d put a Misty (spirit + crit). Once I get a helm with a meta, I’ll be throwing a Revitalizing in there.

- Addon Information -
I use Vuhdo. My Right click on Vuhdo is dispel. I have detox on “v” also for Tsulong. The little square you see on my screenshot is Renewing Mist targets.
I have Forte for my cooldowns.
I use Bartender for my bars.
My cast bars are Quartz
I choose to use DBM over BigWigs.
I use Skada over Recount as I found it to be more accurate.
I have reforge lite to make my reforging quick and easy.
The last addon I use is Chatter. Not really that important for raiding.

-Additional Information-
I think that I would be a good addition to your raid team, because I am always happy to raid, I don’t complain about wipes and I come with good ideas. I’m always happy to help with what needs to, and I perform up to task. I am versatile. If you want my secondary to be dps or tank, I'll do it. I don't mind being that healer that goes dps for the fights that only need two healers, it’s something I love about hybrids, being useful and versatile is important! If you think I could improve, I am happy to accept what you have to say. Unfortunately I do not know anyone in your guild who can vouch for me.
I spoke with Lakita (I think! Oh dear I forgot who I spoke to..) and explained to him/her our gear/situation, and s/he told us to go ahead and apply anyways. Seems like a friendly person and projected a good attitude, so we felt more then comfortable applying here .

Are you able to reach the 3145 breakpoint? (17% raid buffed and in dps stance not healing stance) as that is the breakpoint you want to go for if possible

Yes i think i can without even having to regem. I'm at work at the moment but the minute I get home ill go reforge. (Four hours from now)

I actually really like this app. Progress is impressive, dedication is obvious, Raidbots are very good on the moonkin, English is fine and the all round content of the app is good (although I haven't had a chance to read it all and will get on with that when I do.)

My only reservation I can think of at the moment, is are you an extremely good mistweaver? Or will you be. I'm not convinced that from a standpoint of 'Do as much hps and snipe healing as possible' that that LFR was as good as you could be with that gear. I realise you can argue that it is redundant in an LFR as a healer however there is nothing else we can use to evaluate your playstyle other than the vague explanation.

I have also leveled up a mistweaver monk alt and as an odd coincidence it is the exact same ilvl. Perhaps we should have a chat in-game or on mumble at some point and maybe run an LFR or two if you are up for it?

I do not think I am 'the best mistweaver I could be" but I don't even feel I'm the best moonkin I could be, and that is something I've played for a very long time.
I feel I can learn more and more about both classes, and there is always room to improve no matter if you are in a rank 10k guild, or Paragon. (Just a view from years of raiding )
But I do admit, I am quick on the pick up, and if I see I am making a mistake, I run instances or bgs or whatever until that mistake is fixed.
I do agree that LFR is very "this is so boring, people standing in crap they shouldn't, don't even wait for healer mana to pull boss" and can get very redundant after a while, (also due to its lack of challenge) and I am unhappy that we have been unable to find a successful PUG to get proper logs for you guys (something we are both working on.)
