New player!
My brother wanna raid with us for mop prolly. (He got the skills and dedication)
Been having a chat and he would might consider trying out monk dps. Since we have no monk atm this would be a good fit.
He could also play dk, but thats prolly not the best fit into our team atm dps wise.
He talks about trying server first monk.
You guys think monk will work out? Or should we get him as something else. He picks up things quickly, so there should be np on the preformance part.

Re: New player!
Personally i think a monk would be great, provided he is willing to learn and play both offspecs. As i think monks seem very gimmicky and some abilities and mechanics could be overpowered on certain encounters.
However i think there are a few people in the guild who believe we are to melee heavy (NAMELY YOU!) and have been pushing to steer away from melee, so i think it's fair if they say their opinion on it.
Also it arguably makes us heavy in the agility leather department, i think blizzard will definitely increase the drop rate on agility leather now they have brought monks out but 2 might still be ideal lootwise.

Re: New player!
Monks will probably be OP so getting one should be beneficial.
Monk is only an option, im sure he can be talked into something else. But he is a quick learner and will definately preform with a new class.
As for meele vs ranged. Ranged is superiour imo, but with blizz adding another meele it probably wont be much difference in the new encounters. Meele is always good, just ranged usually more utility.
Anyway, no rush to deside what class really, atleast we have another player. Monk or otherwise.

Re: New player!
My opinon goes bothways. Partly I think a monk might be really cool if they are anything like dks were when they came. Then again the Op part usually only lasts so long anyways
But I agreee about the melee heavy part and I'm sure that will never change in a ten man.
If he could play anything I would suggest a warlock as they are usually hard to find at a decent skill level. And if your brother can pull it off then that would be the most beneficial in the long run.
If he were to play a monk melee I'm afraid he would end up sitting out most of the time or push one of the other melees out. If we were a 25man there would be more freedom with it, but in many fights you have to count the melee and the tanks in as one group and in the past 3 in that group has been a good number and we are already at 4, with him 5. This is the main reason to why I strongly would advise against another melee. Dont want a good player going to waste.
If he really could fill any spot we would bow for a lock you never know when they take over the world.
